Jewelry Care Guide
Sterling Silver & Gold Vermeil
Sterling silver and gold vermeil jewelry are great for everyday wear and easy to care for. With a little love, they will retain their shine and age beautifully.
How to wear your jewelry with care:
- Remove your jewelry before engaging in activities that risk physical damage
- Remove your jewelry before showering or coming into contact with any chemical irritants like chlorine, cosmetics, and lotions
- Avoid exposing your jewelry to moisture for prolonged periods of time and make sure your pieces are fully dried before storing away
- Store jewelry in a safe, dry place, away from daily exposure to the elements; we recommend storing your jewelry in an airtight zip bag
How to clean your jewelry:
- Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners on colored gemstones or vermeil. Instead, gently clean the jewelry in warm water using non-detergent soap.
- To clean sterling silver jewelry, you can coat your jewelry in toothpaste and wipe off with a cloth after 5 minutes, or you can purchase and use silver cleaner such as Wright's Silver Cream
- To prevent your jewelry from tarnishing, wear your pieces often and clean your pieces regularly by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth
- Avoid using polishing cloths frequently on vermeil as they can be abrasive and remove the gold plating. When polishing, apply gentle pressure and don’t over-polish.
